What We Do

Building boats since 1985

Our Mission

To provide Fiji and some of our neighbouring South Pacific customers reliable, safe, comfortable boats whether it be for fishing, commercial transfers or other recreational use.

OUR HISTORY

The Fibreglass Shop came into existence in 1985. Initially it started out by building Fiji’s first 6-man outrigger canoe ‘Siri na Saku’ at the premises of parent company Tradewinds Marine Pte Ltd in Lami just outside of Suva.

Over the years it progressed with assistance from naval architect Colin Dunlop, into custom fibreglass boat building at it’s own premises at Wailada, Lami and nowadays is a multi-model production facility under the ‘Islander Boats’ brand. It’s most ambitious achievement was the 60ft lightweight cruising catamaran ‘Spirit’. The Fibreglass Shop continues to build outrigger canoes of single (1-man) and 6-man size.

What We’ve Achieved

  • Spirit - 60ft lightweight cruising catamaran

  • Fibreglass street canopies

  • Floating structures / docks

  • The popular 24, 28, 33 ft iconic Islander Boats for recreation & commercial use.
